Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use the School Chess website or register for a club event.

Accounts

Provide accurate information, keep your password private and use only your own account. A parent or guardian should help manage an account used by a child. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been used without permission.

Event registrations

A registration reserves a place subject to the published capacity and event status. Please cancel promptly if you can no longer attend so another player may take the place. Event times, venues and formats may change when reasonably necessary.

Fees

Any applicable fee is displayed on the event page. The website does not currently collect online payments. Payment arrangements are made directly with the club. Our Cancellation and Refund Policy applies to prepaid fees.

Member conduct

Members must behave respectfully, follow event instructions, play fairly and avoid disrupting other players. We may refuse or cancel participation where reasonably necessary for safety, fairness or serious misconduct.

Results and photographs

Event results may be recorded and shown to signed-in members. The club may publish event photographs only where it has an appropriate basis to do so. Contact us if you have a concern or want a photograph reviewed.

Website availability

We try to keep information accurate and the website available, but temporary interruptions and reasonable corrections may occur. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under New Zealand law.
